What counts when it comes to virginity? What about when the sex youre having (or not having) is never even included in the conversation? First tells the story of a group of young people confronted with pressures to define and defend their ideas about virginity, leading them down a rabbit hole of complicating questions: What even IS virginity? What has it meant historically and what does it mean today? How do narratives of virginity shape peoples behaviors and ideas about the value of sex and their value within that narrative? Along their journey, mystical figures offer competing but sometimes complimentary perspectives on various myths, stereotypes and values surrounding the idea of virginity.
